Obama Won The Battle of Connecticut and The Electoral Vote War

Connecticut, a traditionally blue state, voted for Barrack Obama 60% to John McCain’s 38% according to Pollster.com’s established election results.

The Secretary of State’s website reports that all 5 of the Congressional districts in the states went to Obama. The candidate of choice in this state was obvious because of past history and polling showed the race not even close with very little support for the republican candidate.

With no Senate race this time around the state focused primarily on Congressional Elections along with the Presidential Election. In the Congressional Elections both Dem candidate swept their districts, D Courtney 55% to Sullivan’s 27% and D Himes 43% to Shays 42%.

As 50 States in 50 Days visits Greenwich, Connecticut on October 6,2008-- "Wall Street waves unsettle Connecticut"-- Charisse Jones of USA Today reports that Jeff Ramer, a long time native of the town and 64 year old attorney, is "concerned that the money we put aside for retirement has taken a great hit." Ramer claims in the story to have once leaned more Republican in political views, but that the economy hit "has solidified his desire for political change — and his support for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama."

Speaker of the house from California, Nancy Pelosi visited Hartford, Connecticut the weekend of the 13-14 of September. According to the Hartford Courant, Pelosi refused to comment or criticize Alaska governor and VP nominee Sarah Palin. Also according to the paper, Pelosi skirted the issue of the governor more than once, as she was asked questions about Palin a couple of times.
